Plagiarism

plagiarism

here’s an article I believe a lot of people should be aware of as it poses a serious consequence in the future if not addressed properly.   one can ask to borrow an article or picture used in an internet posting and if allowed should acknowledge or credit the person for the article / picture to avoid any problems that may arise.

Plagiarism is the “wrongful appropriation” and “purloining and publication” of another author‘s “language, thoughts, ideas, or expressions,” and the representation of them as one’s own original work.   The idea remains problematic with unclear definitions and unclear rules.

The Internet has made plagiarism easier than ever before. From elementary schools to the highest levels of academia, the ease of downloading and copying “untraceable” online information has led to an epidemic of digital plagiarism !

Plagiarism is considered academic dishonesty and a breach of journalistic ethics.

Plagiarism can constitute copyright infringement.

A person who plagiarizes is subject to being sued for fraud or copyright infringement if prior creation can be proved. Penalties vary depending on jurisdiction, the charges brought, and are determined on a case by case basis.

I will keep you posted on the outcome of five blogs / websites that have been copying my articles and photos ( that’s why you have to watermark your photos too ) as I’ve done my part to prevent them from doing the same to others.  Unfortunately, two of these people happen to be in the same facebook group and are supposedly “licensed” broker ( of course that remains to be proven ).
